StateWatch
A sharp voice for public accountability.
StateWatch helps make public power more transparent. Their team studies how government money is spent, how defense decisions are made, and how sanctioned actors try to hide their assets.
The organization already had real influence: its research was used by journalists, public institutions, donors, and international partners. But its brand and website did not reflect that level of work.
The challenge was to turn StateWatch into a clearer, stronger, and more credible public-facing institution — one that could explain complex issues simply, publish serious research, and make its impact visible.
We built the identity around what StateWatch works with every day: evidence.
The logo turns data forms — charts, curves, and signals — into a sharp SW mark. The visual system stays mostly black, white, and grey, giving the brand a serious and institutional feel. Color is used only where it helps: to separate topics, highlight categories, and make complex content easier to scan.
The website became a clean publishing platform. It gives StateWatch one place to collect research, news, investigations, reports, and impact stories — and makes it easier for the team to publish new materials without depending on developers for every update.
A stronger state needs people who can question it, study it, and explain it clearly.
For Hexagon, StateWatch is part of a broader commitment to work with organizations that strengthen democratic culture, transparency, and public accountability in Ukraine.
The new identity and website gave StateWatch a clearer voice and a stronger public presence — helping their research reach more people, support better decisions, and contribute to a more accountable state.
