Industrial AI

A brand identity, website and creative tool for an industrial AI company that outgrew batteries.

Sphere made its name in battery AI as Sphere Energy, combining engineering data, physical testing and simulation to shorten one of the slowest parts of electric vehicle development. Its partners include the testing group DEKRA, now a shareholder, and the power-tool maker Festool.

Then the technology outgrew batteries. Sphere moved into industrial AI with Vetta, an AI operating system for physical product development. Vetta is built in three layers: unified data, model orchestration, and workflow and application.

The brand still spoke like a battery specialist, and that would not hold in front of engineering leaders choosing their AI infrastructure. Sphere asked Hexagon for a brand identity and website that would take it wider than energy and launch Vetta. It needed the depth and credibility enterprise engineering expects, without the cold corporate tone or the jargon.

The identity starts with the name. We built the sphere from three interconnected layers, one for each layer of Vetta, so the symbol explains the product. It is also a creative tool. Made with Hypertool, the 3D sphere is a live asset Sphere’s team can turn, animate and evolve as the product grows.

Each layer gets its own color. Purple carries over from the old identity, and turquoise and acid yellow join it on a restrained dark base. Aeonik keeps headlines clear, and Aeonik Fono gives data and interfaces an engineered edge. CAD-inspired illustrations, dot graphics and black-and-white photography keep the brand in its clients’ world. Vetta has one signature of its own, a dot, so the product stands out without leaving the family.

The website, designed and developed by Hexagon on Sanity, runs like a presentation: frame by frame, from the Sphere story to Vetta’s architecture and its applications. Motion stays restrained, so dense technical content remains easy to follow.

Much of AI is branded as if it could do anything. Sphere’s has a specific job: developing physical products faster. Engineers judge it the way they judge any system, by whether the logic holds.

So we built Sphere’s brand the way Vetta is built: in layers, with logic you can follow. The architecture of the product became the architecture of the brand, and the website’s pacing decides how much complexity a visitor meets at once. The same framework already carries Vetta’s applications, from CAD workflow automation to FEM surrogate simulation, without a new visual language for each.
