Brand identity design for combat medics.

Formed as a special medical group within the International Legion under the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Snake moves fast, works precisely, and brings progressive methods to some of the most chaotic places imaginable — the front lines of 2025.

Before launching its recruitment campaign, the team came to us with a challenge: create a brand identity that could reflect who they are, what they stand for, and the unique blend of agility and care that defines them.

The symbol we landed on was both ancient and immediate: the snake. Across cultures, it has long stood for medicine; for us, it’s transformation, cartography, and unpredictable chaos of war. We wanted to capture all of that in a system that could shift and adapt, just like the unit itself.

Visually, this took the form of clumsy, shifting patterns that bend and coil like a snake in motion. On posters, the forms grow into one another, building larger structures that feel carefully constructed yet alive.

The logo itself is stripped back to a single element: the serpent’s eye. Sharp, watchful, and direct — a mark that’s easy to reproduce, but heavy with meaning.

Our palette draws from the landscapes the unit knows best: the open skies above, the soil beneath, the fractured geometry of damaged buildings. It’s a color story that feels rooted in reality, not decoration.

The recruitment campaign builds on this visual system: a flexible series of posters that work alone, in sets, or merge into one large wall. The language of the brand is as adaptable as the unit it represents.

What made this project special was the collaboration. Snake’s team, despite the gravity of their work, was open to solutions unusual for the military sphere — visuals that leaned into abstraction and narrative rather than clichés of strength. In the end, the design didn’t just communicate who they are. It mirrored how they see themselves: agile, unconventional, and unafraid to redefine what a military brand can look like.
